Leviathan

Leviathan is committed to the idea of social scientific enlightenment and criticism. We publish research-based contributions on the themes of politics, culture, economics, philosophy, law, and the media. It is aimed at a wide audience of politically-minded educators, researchers, administrators, journalists, and broadcasters. Representing methodological, disciplinary and political pluralism, the magazine builds bridges between theory, empirical inquiry, and political practice.

Leviathan is a peer-reviewed publication, published quarterly by the WZB with the Freie Universität Berlin, the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, and the Hertie School of Governance, under the Nomos Verlag imprint since March 2012.

Editorial duties are in the hands of Dr. Claudia Czingon, Research Fellow at the WZB since 2018.

Die Zeitschrift Leviathan ist der Idee sozialwissenschaftlicher Aufklärung und Kritik verpflichtet. Sie veröffentlicht aktuelle Forschungsbeiträge und Debatten zu Themen aus Politik, Kultur, Wirtschaft, Philosophie, Recht und Gesellschaft. Sie richtet sich an eine breite Leserschaft aus Lehre und Forschung, Politik und Verwaltung, Publizistik und Medien. Im Zeichen eines methodologischen, disziplinären und politischen Pluralismus schlägt sie Brücken zwischen Theorie, Empirie und politischer Praxis.

Der Leviathan erscheint vierteljährlich im Nomos-Verlag.
Er wird herausgegeben vom WZB, gemeinsam mit der Freien Universität Berlin, der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlinund der Hertie School of Governance.

Die Redaktion liegt in den Händen von Dr. Claudia Czingon, seit 2018 wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am WZB.
